At today's Ladies Tour of Estonia, several attempts to leave were made. Laura Lizette Sander, representative of the Estonian National Team, and Magdalene Lind, representative of the Coop-Repsol Team, got ahead of the peloton on the gravel section.
This attempt to get away was not successful, and soon Kristel Sandra Soonik (Estonian National Team), Stina Kagevi (Coop-Repsol) and Julia Börgström (Swedish National Team) tried to get away. This attempt also failed.
When the women reached the city rounds, Elisabeth Ebras, representative of the Estonian National Team, gained a small gap on the first climb of Lossi Street. The gap was small and Ebras was caught.
Eline Van Rooijen, rider of the Coop-Repsol Team, did a good sprint in the finish and won the race. "It was a difficult race, but we controlled it and did a good job with the team. The city circuits were very difficult and only a few seconds before the finish line I realized that I could win this race. I am very satisfied," explained Rooijen.
Lithuanian National Team rider Olivija Baleišyte got second place, and Laura Lizette Sander from Estonia came in third place. "It's a pity that the Swede didn't come with the initial attack, but in general I am satisfied. The team was good today," explains Sander.
Laura Lizette Sander was also the best young rider.
