On Saturday, May 25, the Ladies Tour of Estonia will start in Tartu. The best riders from Estonia will be present, as well as very strong foreign riders.

One of the favorites in the race is the Norwegian professional team Coop-Repsol, whose ranks include the Estonian rider Aidi Gerde Tuisk. "Having only recently recovered from a concussion, I don't know how my body and head will cope with the competition. I wasn't feeling well just a week ago, but this week I've felt much better," she explains. She adds that her personal expectations for the race are rather low, but she expects good teamwork and hopes that the team will be successful.

Andri Lebedev, head coach of the Estonian women's road cycling team, believes that although the Norwegian professional team Coop-Repsol is strong, there are other teams that can ride very well: for example, the Swedish and Polish teams. "It is clear that we need this victory the most on our home tracks and we will have to work harder for it," he states.

The rider of the Estonian team, Kristel Sandra Soonik, has previously been the only Estonian female rider to reach the podium at the Ladies Tour of Estonia - she sprinted to second and third place. "I haven't put pressure on myself because I've been on the podium before. Fortunately, I'm feeling good and so is my form, I've competed a lot in Belgium and also got top 10 places".

Laura Lizette Sander, representative of the Estonian national team, pedals daily in the AG Insurance-Soudal NXTG women's pro team and is also one of the strongest Estonian women on the track. "The form is great now, but unfortunately I fell on Sunday. I will see how I feel on Saturday and what the team's tactics will be," Sander states.

Elisabeth Ebras, a representative of the Estonian National Team and also one of the strong riders, competes and trains daily in the UAE Development Team. "I feel confident about the race. I believe that among the teams, Coop will be the biggest competitor, but there may also be surprises from other national teams". "The biggest expectation is to win with the Estonian national team," she adds.
